Dragon Raja – Free Anime MMORPG Mobile Game

I recently started playing Dragon Raja, a full featured MMORPG on smart mobile devices.

Overall Score: 75/90 83% B “Very Good Game For Girls”

Overview: 10/10 Dragon Raja is a beautiful game with amazing character customization and open world environment. Play as one of four starting classes and three “races” (male human, female human, or a kawaii lolita race (all of my characters are loli because they’re sooo cute!!) The character customization is the highlight of this game to me. Story, Gameplay, and Music are all pretty great though really.

Geeky: 5/5 The character customization, combat, graphics, and gameplay earn high marks.

Sweetie: 5/5 The cute anime style graphics and Lolita race and visual novel style choice system as well as very advanced character customization highlight this game’s sweetness factor.

Gameplay: 8/10 The game plays like any MMORPG. Take on quests, level up your character, fight monsters, get loot and equipment for your character and explore the world as you progress through the story.

Dragon Raja has great gameplay but it can suffer from lag depending on your device or connection. This game really pushes the limits of mobile games in both gameplay and graphics so you need a powerful device and high speed connection. If you’re home on WiFi it’s not a problem but in some more rural areas, like where I live where 5G isn’t available, he’ll sometimes 4G isn’t even available, it can be difficult to play on 3G and laggy AF.

There’s also the ability to click the quest to auto path to the next step in the quest. Gameplay especially combat though is quite fun and action packed. Each class plays a little differently and makes the game fun to replay as different classes.

Character Customization:10/10 Not only can you really get unique with your physical appearance, but in almost visual novel style you’ll be prompted at times to answer NPC story dialogue by selecting from multiple responses which changes your character’s personality type and may impact the story. (I say may because I’m not far enough in yet to know for sure)

Story: 7/10 The story is pretty good so far, and like mentioned above you will be prompted at times to respond to the NPCs which makes it more than just reading but the auto path feature makes it all too easy to skip the story almost entirely. I’ve also seen a fair number of typos or grammar errors.

Community: 5/10 An MMORPG is only as great as the players who play. The players here seem more isolated and community takes a large back seat until perhaps later in the game. They also seem immature from what chats I’ve seen so far.

Graphics: 10/10 Love how cute this game is and really enjoy making my characters who you can see throughout this blog post.

Music: 5/10 Just kinda average. Most the time I play mobile games muted anyways.

Replay value: 10/10. With multiple classes and visual novel branching plot elements, this game will keep players coming back.

Overall Score: 75/90 83% B “Very Good Game For Girls”

Love Live All Stars Anime Rhythm Game

The sequel to KLab’s smash hit Love Live School Idol Festival, Love Live All Stars takes it to the next level with fully animated Live2D characters that dance around on the screen.

Like its predecessor, Love Live School Idol Festival, Love Live All Stars is a card collecting rhythm game with cute anime girls to collect.

The new installment in Love Live has a few key differences from the original, most notably is the animation. There’s also costumes you can unlock for your girls to wear and a new voltage gameplay system that allows you to score more points.

The key elements are the same with perhaps more focus on story this time around. You play through the story to unlock new songs. You train your girls and level them up and unlock new skills with a branching skill path for each character.

The girls are back and cuter than ever with the addition of the full body animated dance routines and new cards to collect.

As always the game is fully voiced and the focus is on singing. I could be wrong but I think each voice actress records each song because it sounds like the vocals changed when I had different girls in the center, especially on solo songs. That’s a lot of dedication if that’s correct and it adds some new variation on some of our favorite love live songs. Again could be wrong but sounded that way to me unless it’s my imagination.

The enhanced visuals and enhanced voice acting and addition of costumes and a skill tree for your characters really adds a lot to the new game.

Who’s your favorite waifu? Mine is still Kotori but my best card right now is Mari.

Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars | KLab Inc.

Intermingle with school idols, encourage them, and listen to their worries so you become their number one supporter. Newly acquired members that can only be seen here will be added frequently! Not only can you train newly joined members to add energy to the live performances, outfits and voices that can be used in live performances will be added frequently along with new episodes!

Overall Score: 82/90 91% A- Excellent Game For Girls

Geeky: 5/5 – geeks will love the enhanced visuals and more challenging game play with additions like skill unlocking and branching skill trees

Sweetie: 5/5 – Girls will love the adorable characters and colorful graphics and enhanced focus on story

Overview: 10/10 – All stars retains much of what made LLSIF such a success and enhances it with all new animation and gameplay elements.

Story: 4/10 – Although there is more focus on the story, it’s still not really very interesting – I read the first 2 chapters and now just skip through all of the stories.

Characters: 10/10 – all of your favorite idols from U’s and Aquours return joined by an all new group of girls from Nijigasaki High School. And now they’re cuter than ever

Gameplay: 8/10 – Gameplay is enhanced by letting you train your idols in new ways, with special ability slots that force you to pick and choose which skills to allow your girls to lean, and a branching skill tree that allows you to control how your girls grow. There’s also new dressup elements and a few new gameplay elements within the live shows, like the new voltage gauge. Gameplay however at times does still become very repetitive. I go through phases of wanting to play every day and then not touching it for weeks.

Music: 10/10 – many of your favorite songs return plus a few new songs have been added as well.

Voice acting 10/10 – all of the girls voices are so cute, and I think that perhaps the vocals of the songs change depending who you have equipped in your center stage. Or it seemed that way to me. If true, that’s a lot of time spent recording different versions of each song, plus all of the story dialogue.

Kawaii 10/10: Love Live is one of the cutest games/anime out there and my personal favorite game characters to cosplay as because they’re just so cute

Replay Value: 10/10 – There are many events with limited release cards and really no end to this game which gives it great replay value.

Overall Score: 82/90 91% A- Excellent Game For Girls

Why Do People Play Murder Mystery Games?

Interactive games are the perfect choice to have a lot of fun. Suddenly, you are feeling bored and you have a lot of spare time on your hands. Gather your closest friends and invite them for games and snacks. Board games are also a lot of fun because they involve a lot of people.

Sometimes it is not so satisfying to play a game on your own. It could be interesting for a while, but then you will easily get bored. Besides, having to socialize and laugh is good for your mental health as well.

One of the most popular games in the world is the murder mystery game. People are practically obsessed with it. You may wonder why. Well, there are a lot of reasons for that. This type of interactive game is designed for people that love the rush of adrenaline, as well as mysteries and thrillers. Gather some of your closest friends, and let the fun begin. Click on this link for more information https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_mystery_game

You can read a lot of mystery books about murders, but playing a game that involves a murder is much more fun. You can end up having a memorable night. Also, you can play it whenever you like with you friends. Here are some of the reasons why people love this game:

It’s not just about the murder

One thing is clear, you need to find out who the murderer is, but there’s more to the game than that. Each of your friends will play a character. These characters have backgrounds that make them interesting. They also have goals and a lot of problems to deal with. A lot can happen in this game. You might not end up in jail even if you have committed the murder. In addition, you also have the option to pay off your gambling debts. It all depends on the type of character you play. Your friends will have a great time while playing. Read more here.

The more you dedicate yourself to pulling off that particular character, the more fun the game will be. Even if finding out the murderer is the main goal, you can still have a lot of fun while the culprit is fully discovered. You can also start to develop your own theories about who might be the real murderer.

Meeting new people

You don’t necessarily have to play the game with just your closest friends. These types of interactive games are great for meeting new and interesting people. You can talk to all of them and find a lot of information that will help the case. Even if all of them are playing a particular character, you will have the opportunity to talk to new people and even make new friends. Throw a party and gather some people. Once the game is over, you can discover new things from their real lives. But, for the time being, make sure to stick to your character.

Moreover, this game is great for people that are shy. You will pick up the courage and allow yourself to interact with new people, other than your friends. Who knows? You might meet someone and really hit it off in the long run.

You might be the murderer

Someone from the group has to be the murderer. This can easily be you. You can have a lot of fun trying to trick people that you are not. Sometimes people will guess right away, but make sure to keep the fooled for as long as you can. You will also have background information about the character you play. Be sure to use it to your advantage and not let people discover who you really are.

In some murder mystery games you won’t know you’re the murderer until the game is solved. If this is the way you prefer it, then you should purchase the game with that option. Either way, you will have a lot of fun playing it. Read more on this page

Another great thing about the game is that it can last for a couple of hours. This is the perfect way to kill all that spare time you have on your hands. If you don’t like games that end way too quickly, then this is the choice to go for. You will not regret it. On the plus side, your friends will also have a good time playing it. They will surely want to play it again.

Solving clues

In the beginning, there are a lot of doubts about who might be the real murderer. But, as the game progresses, then things will become much clearer. Who doesn’t like to gather clues and analyze them? It will be like you are in a movie. Each clue will bring you closer to the truth. If you are the murderer, then this might not be the best option for you. But, if you’re not, then you can have fun analyzing and deducing who the murderer might be.

The crime is staged. The murder mystery games are not based on just sitting at the table and discussing all the possibilities. You can improvise and reenact the murder. This means that you have the freedom to move around the room and investigate. This will help you figure out a lot of things. It might even help solve the murder.

Different themes

There isn’t just one type of games like these, there are many. Some of them involve supernatural elements and characters involved, and some stick to the old-fashioned murder solving. Whichever one you choose, you won’t regret it. They are really detailed and discovering the real culprit might take some time. But that’s the whole point. The game won’t be good if you can immediately discover who the killer is.

Moreover, you have a selection of murder mystery games online. This means that you can order them and have them delivered at your doorstep. Or, if you don’t want to wait for them, then go into a local store and buy one or two. Once you are bored with the first one, you can try the other one. However, you won’t get bored of them that easy.

The Influence of Anime Culture on the Gaming Industry

What comes to your mind when you hear the phrase “Anime Culture”? This movement dates back from the early 1917 and has influenced the evolution of many other cultures. It has inspired many famous artists, innovators and trend setters. Known for the progressive element, innovation and creativity, anime is today the leading inspiration among creators and influencers.

The anime genre fascinated and inspired a lot of industries. It’s no wonder that it’s also making an impact on the casino industry. This genre at first referred to film, TV, comics and video games. But let’s be precise-what is actually anime, and how it can be defined?

Anime is a shortened term that stands for animation which covers all forms of animated media. This style is often characterised by colourful graphics, interesting characters and fantastical themes. This culture approaches the world from an abstract perspective and spans across various genres including sci-fi and romance.

How it all began

The first format of anime originally began with short commercial productions. The first animated flips were known to be somewhat crude and hard to process. The technology behind the graphics was developing at a slot but steady pace. It was not until the 60s when the first televised series was broadcasted. Since then, anime remained as a popular original medium. Works released in a direct to video format were called original video animations (OVA).

However, the home distribution of anime releases was not popular until the 80s. That’s when VHS and LaserDisc formats showed up. The VHS format was used both in Japan and the US and took the credit for elevating the popularity of anime movies in the 1990s. Those were transcended by the DVD format which offered the unique advantages, including multiple subtitling and dubbing tracks on the same disc.

Influencing the culture of gaming

It’s anime’s sharp and vibrant graphics that make it a perfect basis for online games, including slot games. Anime films and TV shows deliver fantasy characters which grab players’ attention and interest. Perhaps what makes anime so recognisable is the drawing style. From characters with huge eyes and exaggerated body shape, this presents a unique portraying of characters. We can see this distinct style having an impact in slot games, portraying everything from ancient temples and towns to star galaxies and superpowers.

Slot games have moved away from one dimensional fruit symbols and colour schemes to a more delicate approach to the animation. For example, check out Starburst, one of the popular online slot games around. Today they are more of an artform, created with the player preferences in mind. Immersive and intriguing, these slots will surely captivate the atmosphere through the graphics and imagery.

Many players are no longer interested in pressing the spin button and seeing where the symbols land – they want more from these games. Action-packed storylines and exciting themes that will give an extra layer to the game will provide an adventure-themed gameplay. Anime games often portray battles and fighters, taking martial arts to a whole new level. There are martial arts-themed slot games with ninjas, samurai and sensei as main characters.

Why are they so popular?

There are reasons why this niche has managed to influence the casino industry. In fact, there are several. The most obvious one can be credited to the high fantasy detail, amazing storylines and fantastical characters with superpower abilities. In these stories there are no boundaries – anything is possible. Therefore, game developers can really experiment with ideas when working within this genre. Not only the storylines are captivating, but the animation style is visually and aesthetically appealing. Players can root for their characters and become involved in the game in a way standard slots can’t. As technology is making its progress, more possibilities open for the casino world. This way, players will demand more from their gaming experience. These years we’ve definitely seen a shift in how slots are designed, with much more focus on the fantasy element. This is where anime steps in, as developers consider to incorporate more fantasy elements of this genre into casino games.

Starlight Stage A Pop Idol Card Game By Japanime Games

I recently received Starlight Stage A Pop Idol Card Game from RightStuf. RightStuf is one of the oldest and largest distributors of Otaku merchandise in the US. Check out their website at www.RightStuf.com for everything from anime, manga, action figures, Japanese candy, games, and more.

I decided to purchase Starlight Stage because I’m a fan of mobile idol games and idol anime such as Love Live, Utapri, Bang Dream, Ensemble Stars, and yes, Idol M@ster.

I do not know for sure if this board game is based on Idol M@ster but I suspect it is, since one of the early and most popular Idol M@ster mobile games is titled Idol M@ster Starlight Stage. For whatever reason though, if it is in fact at all related, they stripped it of the Idol M@ster title and just dubbed it Starlight Stage. Either way, related or not, if you love the mobile games or anime idol games, you’ll love Starlight Stage Card Game by Japanime Games.

The game is a little difficult to learn at first, and we had a lot of confusion trying to figure it out in the beginning, but once you get into the rhythm of the turn cycle it’s actually really simple. And it comes with these handy rule cards for each player to reference.

Starlight Stage is for 3-4 players with an average play time of 30-60 minutes. It is a great family game rated for ages 10+.

Designed by Hironatsu Yamada, Starlight Stage is a fast paced card drafting game with adorable idols. It’s your job to recruit idols with different talents and help them grow to become the top talent agency.

At the start of the game you get some low cost starter idols, but you’re going to want to save up some tokens for better idols as you play. The cost is always in the top left of the card.

One of the things that frustrated my friends is understanding the costs and talents of the cards. I found it pretty straight forward but there was a lot of discussion and confusion on how to pay the costs. Also we forgot to shuffle the first time – or just assumed we didn’t need to since it was brand new sealed in box – but yes you have to shuffle lol. We kept drawing the same cards DOH! lol.

The correct way to pay the cost (top left) is to count the talent points (in the kinda grayish box at the bottom of the idol card) and if that’s still not enough you can use tokens but if you use talent tokens you must discard the tokens and move the card whose talent you used to the anteroom (discard pile). You also can’t use tokens just by themselves without using the talents of an idol also, even if you have enough tokens to do so. You also cannot use multiple idols to pay for a card except for use in acquiring event cards.

The object of the game is to have the most popularity points. (Top right) Some cards give additional conditional popularity points at the conclusion of the game so make sure to include this in the final count.

You earn popularity points by earning fame cards and enhancing your existing idols or recruiting new ones.

My only real complaint with the game is that the artwork is really disjointed. Some of the artwork is lovely and others very amateurish because so many different artists worked on this game.

Here I have five cards pulled completely at random out of my game box and five different artists. A total of 13 artists were used to create the art for the cards and they each have different styles and skill levels.

I still love the game so much that I plan to purchase the expansions also available on RightStuf. I love anime idol “culture” and this game is very cute and fun to play. I highly recommend it to anyone who like me, also plays similar mobile rhythm games like Love Live School Idol Festival or the newly released Love Live School Idol Festival All Stars, or Idol M@ster, or Utapri, or Ensemble Stars, or Bang Dream.

I can’t get enough idol games and I’m not alone. I frequently cosplay as love live characters. My favorite is Kotori. And Smartdoll and Dollfie Dream both regularly release limited edition dolls from Love Live or Idol M@ster, not to mention the anime, nendoroid, plushies, and other merchandise, many of which I bet you can also find on RightStuf.com

Sweet Dance Online Anime Dressup Mobile Music Dancing Game

I just started playing Sweet Dance, a pretty cute mobile game with a variety of music hits from around the world. Songs include English hits from the US and Europe as well as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese tracks.

The game has several different dance modes. In the first dance mode, bubble mode, you must simply tap the bubbles on the screen. In Trail mode you must tap left, right, or both sides of your screen depending on the colors of the bubbles. Pink is Right. Blue is left. Yellow is both. The beginning mandatory tutorial only makes you play Bubble mode so I was confused when I played Trail mode but eventually figured it out. There’s also a beat mode which is like DDR for your fingers. In beat mode you must quickly punch in a sequence of arrow movements and then lock in your sequence at the right time with the beat button (The right time is when the red dot is near the white line).

You can dance alone or with friends or random people. There’s also a couples dance mode where your score is combined with a partner.

It’s a very social game too with features like a guild and global chat rooms and private messaging. There’s even a marriage system in the game.

Most of the players seem quite young. Ive seen the majority seem to be 12-16. I’m 38 and I haven’t seen many other 30 year olds lol. It makes me feel a little awkward lol. If you’re 30 plus send me a message let’s be dance friends lol .

So I saved the best part for last, it’s also a kawaii Dressup game. Some items are temporary lasting only days, but others are permanent and it’s not that hard to get permanent items. I played only one day and never spent real money and already have permanent shoes, hair, and my sweet dress with wings. All permanent. And totally free to play.

There’s lots of events and ways to get free items by completing quests or exchange tickets for egg plumes or weekly free wishes in the fountains that grant rare items too.

If You’re A Hot Wheels Collector, Better Read This

If You’re A Hot Wheels Collector, Better Read This

hot wheels

I think that at some point of our lives, we tend to find something that really grows on us. Like, we become attached to it and we want to have more of it in our lives. I don’t know if you’ve found yours yet but I’m pretty confident that you eventually will. It just so happens that some people find this “thing” in their lives early while others discover it much later on.

If you’re not quite sure of what I’m talking about, well, I’m talking about your life collection.

That’s right; I’m actually referring to collections as in objects that you like to hoard over long periods of time. Sometimes, even for life. Every person has that one special thing that they can’t get enough of. For example, stamps. Many people are into collecting all kinds of stamps which is why they go to all sorts of places trying to hoard them all. When there are events, postal offices even release commemorative stamps and this makes the hunt all the more challenging for avid fans. I guess the thrill of the search is really fun for them which is why they grow very invested into the activity. Find out which of the sexes is more likely to be a fan of stashing in this article.

Other than stamps, there are many other kinds of collectibles. Some would gather coins and retell history using them. This is actually a very expensive stash since old, discontinued coins cost a fortune these days. You can even say they’re relics of a certain era in the past. Others round up shoes or bags; these people are often fashionistas with a unique love for apparel. Avid collectors will have closets and closets – or even several rooms – filled with their most prized possessions. I think die-hard fanatics would go to the ends of the earth (or at least pay thousands of dollars) just to get their hands on a rare collectible.

One other type of collection is toys.

Who Are Toy Collectors?

Many of you might think that toys are just for children. Well, guess what? Some adults love toys way more than any child ever could. In fact, they love it so much they don’t actually play with them. They just hand it on the wall or put it in a crystal display case and stare at it for hours on end. They would tell you “it soothes them” to look at their vast and unopened boxes of mint condition toys.

If anything, this is to the advantage of toy manufacturers and they know it. This is why several manufacturers purposely release new limited edition collectibles every year. The most recent ones I can recall are Shopkins, Hatchimals, and of course, the never-dying Pokemon (cards and figures). They know that kids and adults alike are vulnerable to these sorts of products so I guess they’re all just seizing the day. There are actually so many more kinds than I can count but most of them are figures that are almost never played with. Such is the obsession of any avid collector. You can even check out unboxing videos to know more.

One very popular collection that has survived decades is Hot Wheels. They’re miniature replicas of real life cars. The company also releases original designs and character or movie inspired designs. They are well-loved by boys and men. This toy is so enduring that they’re still pretty popular to this day. And to think that the company started way back 1968!

Why Buy A Protective Case For Your Hot Wheels?

If you’ve been amassing for a very long time, you should have valuable Hot Wheel cars in your possession. If they’re in mint condition, then all the more reason for you to protect them buy purchasing hot wheels bulk case. I think you already know this but a well-preserved Hot Wheels car (especially those that have never been used) can cost a lot in the future. Proof of the increasing value of this collectible is the fact that car models released in the 70s and 80s already cost a fortune today. You can see some collectors auctioning off some of their best pieces online and you wouldn’t believe your eyes when you see how much the bid price starts at.

If you’re growing your stash, buying a protective case for each one is a way you can preserve its value over time. We don’t see Hot Wheels fading into the background any time soon. As long as car companies release new models each year, there will be more and more replicas. Take better care of them by sealing them away in a clear protective case!

Japan Legalizes Casino Resorts – Can We Expect Kawaii Anime Casino Games In Japan’s Upcoming Newly Legalized Casino Resorts?

Japan recently legalized “vegas style” gambling casino resorts. One thing that has always been true in Japan is that Japanese culture is all about “cute” or as they call it “kawaii” – it doesn’t matter if you’re young, old, male, female, it’s everywhere. While Las Vegas is associated with glitz, glamour, and sex-appeal; I bet we will see a different type of “theme” overall in Japan’s upcoming casinos. If I had to bet, I’d say we’ll see a lot of interesting kawaii games, kawaii mascots, kawaii marketing/promotions, and lots of games with cute anime girls. Japan’s gambling casinos are still in early development and planning stages, but you don’t have to wait to play games. You can play some cute casino games online right now at http://scr888-malaysia.com/

Konami and other game developers have already made a lot of cute anime slot machines. But until recently, gambling has not been legalized in Japan, so much of these slot machines were developed for other international markets.

What are some Konami, or other slot machines that you’d like to see? I could definitely see Bandai getting in on this action with Love Live, Idol M@ster, and Akatsu style slot machines, maybe even ones that interact with the physical or mobile card games to grant more new cute and rare/exclusive girls.

Could we expect a pokemon game? I bet even big names like Sony and Nintendo will seek to create casino games since it is a brand new market in Japan and just now getting ready to take off.

Here are a few of the cutest anime style games already on the market today. These videos are not mine, but I found them while looking for cute anime casino games. Check them out below.

  1. Chart Topper By Konami –

This one looks like it might be idol themed, given the name, and cute anime girl who reminds me a bit of Jem and the holograms.

++NEW Chart Topper slot machine, #G2E2015, Konami

G2E 2015 Videos are at: http://www.digdia.com/slots/index_g2e_15.shtml This game from Konami seems to be a refresh of Sakura Lady. Sakura means Cherry (blossom) in Japanese. Both games feature an occasional appearance of large wild symbols that land on the reels in different locations.

2. Win His Hearts Slots –

This is an otome game (game for girls) with dating sim elements, that’s also first and foremost a slot machine. I could see this same concept also working with female characters for male players as well. It’s a great concept. I would play this.

Win His Heart Slots Anime Casino Slot Machine Games PV2

Join World”s First Romantic Casino Game, where you can start a romance with hot anime characters by spinning their slot machines! Go to Vegas and find your true love!

3. Moon Princess

Here is a generic sailor moon rip off type of slot game, similar theme as sailor moon, similar style characters. I bet we can expect an official Sailor Moon casino game, when the new resorts open in Japan. Until then, this is pretty close.

The Moon Princess Slot Gameplay

Play”n GO has released a new slot machine, called The Moon Princess. It is clearly inspired by the Japanese Mange “Sailor Moon”, which many know from the anime series of the same name. The game comes on the market in time for the 25th anniversary of the comics, has a 5×5 design and a lot of exciting features…

//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/platform.js

4. Lapis X Labyrinth

This one is a bit more action and roleplaying oriented. I don’t know if it’d work in an actual casino, but I bet Japan will find some way to implement JRPG concepts into at least some of their slot machines, maybe in the form of a bonus round or similar. This one is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

ANIME ACTION SLOT MACHINE | Lapis x Labyrinth SWITCH FIRST 30 Review

►Click SHOW MORE for more info!◄ Lapis x Labyrinth is what happens when you combine a Los Vegas slot machine and a DEEP RPG action game. It”s absolute insanity in video game form, and addictive to boot. Highly recommend this gem.

5. Possible Gachapon style slot machines?

While most people want to win money in a casino, could we also see some Gachapon style games that give rare/exclusive cute figurines – maybe as a consolation prize or through certain bonus events? If you don’t know what a Gachapon is, you can check out this video below. Some of the prizes are quite cute and the rare ones are highly sought after, and many are available only for a limited time. – I could see these being used to draw people into the new casinos too.

Gachapon: Capsule Toy Adventure in Akihabara ★ ONLY in JAPAN

Gachapon is toy capsules from coin dispensing machines that are found all over Japan. What”s unique is that they don”t only have high quality anime figures and other surprises, but they”re loved by adults as well as kids! Japanese love the mystery of the what”s inside that gachapon capsule.

//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/platform.js

Regardless of where the future of gambling and casino games go in Japan. One thing’s almost for sure, it’s going to be done in a much more kawaii, colorful, anime inspired way than anything the world has ever seen at any other casino around the globe. I look forward to seeing where the gambling and casino industry goes, and who knows, if some games are popular enough, maybe they will cross over to this side of the pond as well.

Replay FX Retro Gaming Convention Pittsburgh PA

I attended Replay FX, a retro gaming convention in Pittsburgh PA. I really enjoyed my time there, and definitely plan to return next year as well. The convention includes hundreds of arcade games, console games, and board games. All of the electronic games are from the 80s-90s with no modern games in sight so it’s definitely aimed at Retro gamers.

They had tournaments for Dr Mario, Tecmo Bowl, and Smash Brothers, to name a few. They also had a cosplay competition. There are large cash prizes for all of the competitions. We didn’t enter any competitions this time, but I did cosplay, just for fun. I brought out my Love Live School Idol Festival Kotori Cosplay Costume again – I’ve been wearing it a lot lately, and also plan to wear it again soon for Animu at the Zoo also in Pittsburgh, PA.

Some popular games that we saw other than the ones mentioned above, included Pac-Man, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Paper Boy, Soul Calibur, Mr. Do, Dig Dug, Maniac Mansion. Mario, Sonic, Battle Toads, Zookeeper, Tetris, Xandu, Centipede, Metroid, Dark Stalkers, Virtua Tennis, Tekken, Donkey Kong, lots of racing games, and tons of different Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmani style arcade games. There were also hundreds of pinball games.

All of the games are free of course, because you’re paying for admittance to the convention. There are lots of vendors too selling stuff – some of the things they’re selling may be questionable – like rom/emulator things that come preloaded with thousands of games – pretty sure that’s illegal to sell lol. I almost bought one though, because it is pretty cool – I’ve seen similar on wish and aliexpress. Or you can of course get your own roms online for free – which is illegal if you don’t own the actual games – but in my case, I do own like 80% of the games still I have all my consoles, from 80s, 90s, 2k, etc. But of course I can’t have them all hooked up all the time, too many wires, not enough space, etc, which makes having the roms very handy.

The board games were out in a separate more quiet space and provide a nice break from the flashing lights and sounds of all of the electronic games.

Back in the main hall they also had a giant ferris wheel that lit up later in the evening. I didn’t ride it, because it was a very unique ferris wheel – it flipped upside down…. It looked scary as heck to be honest lol. Each car rocked and shook back and forth and occasionally turned completely upside down. The cars are all enclosed of course so you don’t fall out, but still uhm no thanks lol.

Later in the evening, they also had live music, but it was hard to hear over the sounds of all the people and all the games.

There are food concessions on site, including alcohol, but it’s over priced, and most of the food is terrible. You can bring your own food – even if it’s against their rules, no one checks bags there.

Which brings to the next point, with all the crazy things happening in our country, you’d think they would have SOME type of security there…. There were no metal detectors, no one checking bags, and I didn’t see a single guard or any kind of personnel…. With thousands of loud chaotic games and thousands of people…… this is just a recipe for disaster… And it would be hard to contain or control the chaos, there’s 2 escalators, 1 up/1 down, and maybe some stairs somewhere but I didn’t see/know where. And the escalators and halls and everywhere were super crowded. It’s billed as the largest retro gaming convention in the US.

I didn’t really think about that at all while I was there though, and felt perfectly safe, but in retrospect, looking back, I wish they had more security in place. You just can’t trust crazy people these days. I don’t want to get into politics of it… But I will say video games are not to blame. Think about it… They have the exact same games in dozens of other countries, Europe, Asia, Japan, South Korea, Canada, even South America – and you know what they don’t have? Mass Shootings… you know why? Because they have gun control laws and mental health care (or any kind of health care for that matter).

Games are not to blame… I don’t play super violent games like shooting games, call of duty, rainbow six,  and whatever else, they just aren’t fun or interesting to me (no story, no cute graphics, snoozeville lol) … So I could care less about if people sell them or play them… But I just think it’s ridiculous that they think banning them will do any good to stop these events from happening. United States needs to look at the rest of the world and “get it together” when it comes to these 2 things, gun control, and health care including mental health care, before it is too late.

We also are more diverse than most other nations. And for some reason, a large number of Americans don’t like other Americans who are different from themselves, and it’s not just white people either. My hispanic boyfried told me that he and his friends consisting of another hispanic and 2 asians and 1 white person, were rejected/kicked off a soccer field by some indian people the other day.  All this hatred and racism towards each other is at the heart of all this violence, and until we address those issues, these problems are only going to escalate. Even if we do get reasonable gun control laws and better health care, we still need to find a way to stomp out racism.

Anyways I diverted a little bit from the topic here… but yeah… the only complaint I REALLY have with Replay FX is that it might be highly unsafe due to lack of security measures especially in midst of current events in our country right now. I would like to see metal detectors, guards checking bags at the gates – even if that means I can’t bring my own food/drink next year, and guards walking around up and down inside the convention also. We have to be smart and be safe. That whole convention center really needs to step up security. I was there 2 weeks ago for my boyfriend’s sporting tournament and again no security, no bag checking, etc.

I’ll still go next year, and still have a good time. I won’t live life in fear of what could happen. That’s what terrorists want. Live each day to the fullest with no regrets. If I were to die at a gaming convention, at least I would die doing what I love lol.

But in all honesty, Replay FX is great. For $35 for an adult day pass, or $100 to go all 4 days… And unlimited gameplay once you’re inside…. it can’t be beat. We spend more than $35 at Dave and Busters and it’s gone in an hour or two. Replay FX is also open late into the night, midnight this year, and opens at 9am, which is great. For 35 bucks you can play unlimited games for over 12 hours. Like I said, it can’t be beat for great value and more bang for your buck! Highly recommend this event for all gamers, especially those who grew up with retro games like Colecovision, Atari, and old school Nintendo. They had them all, plus Dreamcast and more rare retro finds. Very nostalgic – but I think young kids would enjoy this event too! It’s fun for the whole family.

BTS World Game Review

BTS now has an official visual novel style game that puts you in the role of managing your favorite boy band. Unfortunately, it is a great concept but has poor execution. There are lots of features which sound fun, but somehow still miss the mark. Even if you love BTS, which I do, this game still feels dull and boring. But somehow it’s cute, and I still find myself playing it and hoping it will get better. I’m grateful they made this game and took time to translate the text to English. Even if it is rather mediocre at best.

Check out the full review below.

My Score: 51/80 64% D “Average Game For Girls”

The game has only been out for about 2 weeks at this point, so hopefully they can keep adding new updates to make the game more exciting. The first chapter is especially dull. It needs a better introduction to the game, because no one is going to stick around to keep playing when the first dozen or more missions are so lackluster. I keep playing to see the cute boys, but you could just watch BTS youtube videos and get the same effect lol.

Geeky: 2/5 – Gameplay is bad, story is boring, but yet, it is definitely geeky, only geeky girls (and guys?) who love BTS will play this game.

Sweetie: 5/5 – The game is cute, with each member being featured in their own chapters and putting you in the middle of their story – even though that story really isn’t good at all. I like being able to pretend to text/chat with BTS, and watch their cute reactions. Who is your favorite BTS member? I like Jimin and Jin. They are so cute.

Gameplay: 4/10 – I want to rate this higher… but I just can’t… It has so many features, collecting cards like in Love Live, visual novel/otome story like idea factory games, dressup minigames like love nikki, chatting/phoning like Mystic Messenger…. yet… somehow… even though it draws inspiration from all of these amazing popular games that I love… it somehow… feels flat to me… The features are there… but they lack heart if that makes any sense?

Also one thing that drives me crazy is we can’t take screenshots, and can’t share our cards / brag about rares, etc on social media; that kills a lot of the fun for me.

Story: 3/10 – The story is bad… really bad… Almost can’t force myself to keep playing the game because the story is so slow, boring, dull, just blah…. You guys know I don’t like giving spoilers when I review a game, I like to let you discover the stories for yourselves… I should add I’m not very far in the game yet? Maybe about half way through? Maybe it will get better?

To give you a “highlight” of the story “concept” BTS World takes place in an alternate universe where BTS has never met. You receive a strange message on your phone telling you that you have won a free ticket to a BTS concert, but when you arrive, it’s only a single member, who is waiting to sign a contract which you somehow mysteriously have been carrying around.

Surprise, you’re BTS’ manager. Only you have any memory of who BTS is in the “Real World”. Here in this alternate universe, you work at Big Hit and have been tasked with recruiting talent for a new boy band who will eventually become what we know as BTS.

You do this by progressing through a visual novel style game, although there are few choices along the way.

The game assumes alot about you as the player. It assumes you already know who BTS is, and that you have in depth intimate knowledge about each of the members of BTS. The game doesn’t really provide you any of this information, because why would you be playing this game unless you love BTS right? (that’s their thinking not mine, I personally “like” BTS, but I’m not really knowledgeable about every single member).

I think the story could be improved by assuming less. Giving the characters more… character? I want to learn/know more about each member of BTS while I’m playing… but I feel like it doesn’t really tell me much… which leaves me feeling uninterested…

The games first several missions are literally like “OMG it’s xyz Member, what’s he doing here? Oh he signed my contract, and teased me because I’m freaking out again. I’m a really bad manager. I will do my best to help BTS”

I rather it assume that the player only has minimal knowledge – or better yet even, no knowledge, of BTS. I rather see the members introduced doing things they enjoy/love, like what’s their favorite food, what other hobbies do they have aside from kpop, like maybe playing video games, playing basketball, reading, volunteering with animals, I dunno, whatever BTS does in their spare time.

I feel like that would add some… heart… or humanity… or something to this game…. Give me a reason to care about the characters….

The target audience of this game, the millions of ARMYs are probably perfectly happy with this game, as evidenced by the 4.8 rating on Google…. I don’t consider myself an ARMY… but I do consider myself a fan of BTS – as evidenced here the last month or two that I’ve been sharing my listening habits with you readers, you can see I constantly list BTS (among also other KPop artists).

But even though I’m a fan, I couldn’t tell you too much; hell I can’t even name every member honestly – sorry, I’m not like die-hard… I’m just kinda a casual fan… but I would like to play this game too… but it just… frustrates me that I feel detached from the story and characters because the game does nothing to introduce them, tell me about them, let me “get to know them”.

Which leads us to…

Characters: 7/10 – I’m rating this highly – I am taking points away for the lack of character “development” – but the characters are actual BTS members and they have made videos and pictures etc just for this game, which is really cute, where they speak right to you as a manager. And you can see cute clips and introductions and it’s very cute. I love the cute boys. That’s the only thing saving this game. lol.

Graphics: 8/10 – Sometimes… the graphics look very cheesy in the novel (main gameplay parts), because they are so stiff. I’m used to Live2D where the characters move fluidly… But… in other sections, even some high level cards, there is real video clips, and BTS is so cute, who couldn’t love the Graphics, really?

Voice: 10/10 – BTS provides voice clips for the game too. You can hear BTS talking to you :).

Music: 10/10 – What BTS game wouldn’t have good music? duh lol.

Replay Value: 2/10 – I’m not sure… it’s only been out for 2 weeks – will they have time-limited cards, special events, etc? I hope so, otherwise once you complete the story (which isn’t even that good in the first place) I see no reason to keep playing the game.

My Score: 51/80 64% D “Average Game For Girls” – Yeah, I’d say this game is really just Average. Much better games out there… but if you love BTS – and know a lot about BTS – like I know Millions of ARMYs do – then you will probably super love this game. For me, it’s just kinda cute/amusing but ultimately not a very good game at all, despite that I like BTS quite a bit, but my lack of intimate knowledge of the band and its members ultimately hurts my enjoyment of this game. Your mileage may vary, especially if you’re a BTS super fan. lol.
