Why Iphone 6 Plus is the best Smartphone for Female Gamers

I’m currently lusting after an Iphone 6 Plus, but by time I fulfill my contract, to get the upgrade discount, I’m pretty sure the Iphone 7 will be out. I’ve never owned an Iphone. I had androids for years, ever since the first motorola droid, with the slide out keyboard. About a year ago now I bought a windows phone. I’m always an early adopter of technology, but windows is very disappointing in two areas. First, the app store, no good games, despite, Microsoft’s recent announcement that windows 10 will allow developers to easily port their games to the platform at just the switch of a button. Secondly, no accessories available for the phone in store, some may be available online, but really, I feel jealous of all the cool accessories and cute beautification elements that go into the Iphone.

I own an Ipad 2 (the old one, before “Air”) and the app store on Ipad is amaze-balls. There are so many free Otome games and Visual Novels. I’ve realized that I’m more of a casual gamer these days. Maybe I’ll write a blog post about that sometime too. Don’t get me wrong, I love my PC and Console games too, but we’re seeing so many great mobile titles lately, especially asian developed titles (anime games, rpgs, visual novels, otome games, dating sims, etc). The App store has hundreds if not thousands of these styles of games which get often neglected in the next gen consoles and PC lineups.

I love my Ipad and play it daily… and yet… since it’s the Wifi only model… and also due to size/weight, It just is not practical to always have on my person, the way an Iphone would be… For breaks at work, lunch, commutes, waiting rooms at appointments, or while waiting for food in a restaurant, etc.

The Ipad also can’t be customized as cutely, and femininely as the Iphone.

They also make cute wallets and clutches to carry your Iphone, and your ID, and maybe 2 or 3 credit/debit cards and some money. — I had similar wallets like this for my Galaxy Note. But I have not found any for my Windows phone.

The larger screen of the Iphone Plus, makes it better for gamers who spend a large amount of time looking at their screens.

My next phone for sure will be an Iphone. I keep entering contests (not the scammer ones lol just legit ones), and hoping and praying to win one, or enough moola to buy one, before my contract expires next year.

However, the Iphone 7 is looking to be even better for us girls, who, if you’re like me, LOVE taking photos. That’s because rumor has it that Iphone 7 will feature a much improved camera, using multiple sensors, to aid in low-light photography and image stabalization technology (already present in the Iphone 6 Plus).

If you’re a female gamer, who likes any of the above mentioned styles of games, or regards your phone as a fashion accesory, the Iphone is the ONLY way to go, in my opinion. And if you’re worried you might miss some of your existing android apps, check out BlueStacks which allows you to play android games on your PC. I use it to play Soccer Spirits, because that game doesn’t run well on my Ipad. But you can access any game on the google play store (you still have to pay if you want to play a paid game). Unlike other Android emulators, the playstore is built directly into Bluestacks and its very easy to use without having to patch or create other work arounds which may be difficult for non techsavy gamers.

Anime Styled Games and Games Based Upon Anime

I made this list in response to a forum question at http://kawaii.io However, the list was so long that it broke the thread, preventing anyone else from replying.

Some formatting may look odd until I have time to reformat this. I just wanted to move it off the forums to try to unbreak the thread in question.

Are you looking for just anime STYLED games with anime-ish graphics? Or games actually BASED upon an existing anime series?

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Either way, here are my recommendations ^-^

For anime STYLED games check this spoiler (Includes any cases in which the game came first, and later an anime was based upon the game, or games for which no anime exist, but feature anime cutscenes or anime styled artwork)

For games based on an existing anime series check here

Also pretty much any visual novel or otome game (these games do not have much gameplay though so if you get bored reading books, do not look into this genre, because that’s essentially what it is, an animated and interactive book) There’s a few discussions ongoing already on this topic. MANY of these get anime based on the game (instead of the other way around) Such as Clannad, Da Capo, Fortune Arterial, Air, Kanon, Shuffle, Fate/Stay/Night, etc, etc.

Also I’ve never played so can not “recommend” but I know there are Naruto and DBZ games (I did play an old DBZ game but it wasn’t to my tastes).

Also ALL of my recommendations in the spoiler tags have an official english release/translation. I did not include any Japanese only OR Fan Translated titles.

If you wish to browse those types of titles not included in my recommendations, please refer to this Wiki:

Tactics Ogre – Let Us Cling Together Review

image

Title: Tactics Ogre – Let Us Cling Together

Platform: SNES, Psx/Ps1, PSP

Genre: Strategy RPG (SRPG)

Publisher: The game was originally developed by Quest Corporation who are now defunct. The english localizations of this series have been handled by numerous third party companies including Atlus and Square-Enix. This review is specifically for the PSP enhanced edition released in 2011 by Square-Enix.

Overall Score: 83% B. Very Good Game for Girls

Where to buy: Amazon

Geeky Factor: geekygeekygeekygeekygeeky

Sweetie Factor: sweetiesweetiesweetie

Story: 10/10 – The story of tactics ogre is far more complex and mature than square’s own “final fantasy tactics” series. It resembles a lot of what made the original final fantasy tactics great, while the sequels of that series have been dumbed down to be child friendly. At it’s core, it’s a story of choice and consequence, in a war-torn continent full of political intrigue. At every turn, you will shape and mold the story and the fate of the people living (or dieing) across the continent. Will you be consumed with vengeance, seduced by greed, or sacrifice even those closest to you for the greater good? The story is also full of emotions, and does an excellent job drawing players into the world. They’ve even gone as far as to use old english in much of the dialogue to create total immersion.

//

Concept: 10/10 – The concept is also similar to most SRPG, grid based combat, lots of different classes for your units, recruiting new units, leveling up and equipping your troops, etc. – The difference with Tactics Ogre once again is that the choices YOU make, effect which parts of the story you live out. Instead of just being told the history of these people, you are the one writing their history and deciding their fate.

Gameplay: 10/10 – While it does little to innovate, there are certain unique twists on the traditional tactical rpg combat. You do not level up a single character, instead you level up a job class, and this job class can then be “equiped” to any character who will start from the max level you have obtained for their role. Any units who survive combat gain experience points for the class that they played as for that map. Since the choice and consequence system could also be considered a gameplay mechanic just as much as a story mechanic, I’m also awarding points to gameplay for this factor, because no other SRPG, and perhaps, no other game, period, puts to use such an elaborate and meaningful choice and consequence system.

Characters: 5/10 – While the story is moving and emotionally engaging, I still feel that character development was a bit flat. I have played a ton of rpgs, and just find these characters to be less memorable than others in other games. They don’t stick with me or make a lasting impression. Sure I care about them at different points throughout the game, some have made me laugh, others have made me cry, some have filled me with hate, but at the end of the day, when I’m done playing, I don’t think back about the characters, they look similar, talk similar, can have similar classes, skills, abilities, and don’t have as much heart or personality as more fleshed out characters in other games. I truly believe this is due to the game’s best feature, the choice and consequences system, when you have a more open ended, or multi-pathed game, the writer gives up control of these characters, to the player, while in a very linear game, the writing is very precise and true to the author’s original intentions for the cast. It’s a sacrifice or trade off. It’s rare to find a game that can do both well. I feel that it was a worthy sacrifice in this case, the gameplay is amazing and I would not want to sacrifice that at all.

Graphics: 5/10 – This is an old game, originally for the super nintendo, 16 bit system. It’s graphics are about akin to what any novice can produce in programs like RPG Maker today. But for it’s time, I think it had really strong graphics. They are definitely outdated by today’s standards though.

Music: 10/10 – This game has beautiful music which adds to the emotional impact of the story. The music itself feels very majestic.

Final Scores:

Story: 10/10

Concept: 10/10

Gameplay 10/10

Characters 5/10

Graphics: 5/10

Music: 10/10

Voice Acting: Not Voiced N/A

Overall: 83% B. Very Good Game for Girls
