Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes – Spiritual Successor to Suikoden By Original Suikoden Developers Has Appeared On Kickstarter And Already Reached Its Funding Goal

And yes, it will be in English – among many other languages. The catch is you’ll have to wait 2 and a half years for it to be released.

With 31 days left of their kickstarter campaign, Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes has already achieved its funding goal. You can help fund the game and get a digital copy when it is released for just $38. For $90 you can get Beta Access to the PC version and a physical copy for your platform of choice.

I chose to back this project – for just the digital copy – I won’t be able to provide any insights as to the Beta – but I definitely had to back this one. Suikoden is one of my favorite game series. And this is basically Suikoden with a different name because probably I assume that Konami owns the Suikoden name.

It has many of the same developers as the first, second, and 4th Suikoden games. And moreover, the gameplay is basically exactly like Suikoden. It features traditional JRPG combat, with 100+ characters to recruit. You build a fortress which blossoms into a city. You can cook, craft, etc. And people on your team and in your fortress range from wizard to warrior to blacksmith to baker, etc.

This is basically Suikoden… Just probably for legal reasons they had to call it something else… Kinda like what happened to Harvest Moon vs Story of Seasons right?

So here we are… with an estimated release date in 2 and a half years…. 2 and a half years is a long time to wait for a game…. But I know Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will be worth the wait.

We’ve already waited over 25 years for a new Suikoden game, but Konami continues to make really really really bad decisions when it comes to releasing games fans actually want … So the developers of Suikoden are in talks with multiple publishers to bring what is basically Suikoden’s next game to the fans, under the new name of Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes.

Check out all of the features and screenshots from their pledge page, sprinkled throughout my blog post, then go pledge to support one of the greatest JRPGs of all time.

King’s Quest To Get a Sequel King’s Quest IX on July 28th 2015.

I think I recall hearing about this a year or two ago… but it fell to the back of my mind… until a facebook ad told me to like Sierra Games for updates on the “new” king’s quest game.

Upon clicking that ad, I saw the game is about to release on July 28th…. and I SPAZZED OUT. I can barely contain myself to even write this right now…

I own ALL of the games. My favorite is “heir today, gone tomorrow” because it was the first one I played :)

They are beautifully hand drawn point and click games with charming (Although sometimes cheesey) characters and humor mixed in.

Their last title, was NOT a good move for the company and I assumed would be the death of the series (They made an ultima-ish first person action-rpg) King’s Quest Mask of Eternity was very different and not a hit with fans of the familiar old style gameplay. It also lacked the same quaint charm and sometimes cheesy / blatantly bad humor.

Anyways… NOW we get back to the ROOTS of the game. It looks so fricken beautiful like a storybook brought to life. PLUS it looks like for the first time ever in the series, it will have a branching plot, like visual novel games, and decisions YOU make will affect what parts of the game you see ! I LOVE that!! That has me even MORE excited!! OMG… Because it says choose which tale you will tell in the trailer. !! I am hyped about that. The replay value will be sky high.

It’s gonna open up all the old games to young kids who never got to experience them (hint you can buy the collector’s edition from GOG.com which has all the old games <3).

If you’re excited like me…. check out the trailer and go see their facebook page or website for more info. http://www.sierra.com/kingsquest/

Also if you preorder the game you get an EXCLUSIVE playable epilogue after the game’s “ending” available only for preorder-ers.
