Rise and Shine with these Magical and Mythical Slots

Who doesn’t love a bit of magic and mystery in their lives? We know we do, especially when it comes to playing online Slots. Scroll through the latest in slot games and you’ll be inundated with some of the best casino offers around, but in all the excitement, you might end up missing some of the greatest themed Slots on the current market. Well, not to worry, as we’ve pulled together some of the best we could find.

Read on to find out more.

Aurora

This magical slot gets its name from the “aurora borealis”, or as you most likely know them, the Northern Lights. As the lights sparkle above the reels, feel free to let your imagination run wild and roll in a whole host of lucrative characters and symbols. The layout of the reels is quite simple, structured as a five by three grid with 30 pay-lines. Gameplay begins from as little as 0.20 credits, with a maximum betting range of 50 credits. Once you’ve got the reels rolling, you’ll have the chance to win as much as 736x your first bet.

Just like those famous lights, the symbols in this game simply cannot wait to come alive. The base game symbols are represented by slabs of stone that are beautifully crafted and chiselled into four different faces. Amongst the stone faces you also have the chance to roll in the mighty troll which is the most special icon in this slot. The troll icon has the power of the wild and scatter symbols combined – a rather unique occurrence in the world of Slots. Find the troll in the middle reel and it will take on the role of the wild. What’s more, if he takes on the whole of the middle reels then the additional Free Spins Bonus will be activated.

Rise of Athena

Now for a taste of wisdom from ancient Greece, delivered directly by the goddess Athena. Athena is known to be the goddess of wisdom, so here’s hoping she brings some of that your way, as you play through the five-reel and 10 pay-line extravaganza. Gameplay begins from just 0.10 credits, with the chance to benefit from 27x multipliers and a 5,000x your bet, overall win. The Multiplier Wilds are the key to racking up a 27x prize, with a culmination of individual 1x and 3x multipliers. These multipliers can also bring with them a Free Spins feature, which includes sticky wilds wherever they land.

The reels fall between two grand ancient Greek pillars, and are filled to the brim with mythological symbols. There are five lower-value icons to look out for in the form of playing cards symbols. Paying out slightly more, you’ll find the Greek warrior helmets, ancient scrolls, amphoras and the elegant image of the graceful, winged Pegasus horse. Athena herself is the highest paying symbol in this game, as you’d expect, with the ability to dish out up to 150x your first bet, if you roll in five on a single payline. The wild symbol comes in the form of a simple ‘W’ icon, which can replace any other symbol on the board, in order to create ever more winning combinations.

Parabox Otohime 80cm Vinyl ABJD Anime Doll Unboxing Review

About 3 weeks ago I saw Parabox Otohime on facebook in a doll group where members share photos or post buy/sale posts or ask questions about asian ball jointed dolls. Someone was asking a general question about Otohime. I had never seen or heard of this doll before, although I’m no stranger to Parabox, with my first Parabox doll being Obitsu Gretel back in 2006(ish). I was immediately intrigued because she’s so big.

Fast forward to today when my Parabox Otohime arrived. I decided to spend most of the evening after work, photographing my new doll. I did a box opening video that you can watch also if it ever finishes uploading.

At the end of this review, you can see size comparisons between Otohime and my other vinyl dolls. And sprinkled throughout this review are some photos of my Otohime. You can see many more photos on my instagram.

There are other asian ball jointed dolls that are just as big, or even bigger than Otohime, but they come at a high price point and not only hefty price, but hefty weight (due to being made out of resin instead of vinyl) that makes them awkward for taking to doll meetups or posing for photos or dressing them, etc. Most of these bigger dolls belong to a company called Dollmore which you can visit at dollmore.net.

I have some of their dolls too, but not their big ones. The biggest is Trinity at over 100cm tall, but there’s also Lusion who is about the same height, but thicker width as Otohime. Dollmore’s big dolls appear to fit human clothes better than Otohime, because again Otohime is so thin relatively compared to how tall she is. Otohime can wear newborn clothes for 0-3 months old, but they will be baggy especially around the shoulders and chest area.

It’s not just Japanese dolls that come in this massive size either. I own 2 “Masterpiece Dolls” which are I believe vinyl also like Otohime. They are from a German designer, and I believe they are no longer produced. I have seen knock offs or possible recasts of these dolls on amazon and aliexpress. I have 2 of them, a boy and a girl.

There were numerous boys and girls released over the years, ranging in size from being able to wear size 3T (toddler) to 5T (toddler) (USA sizes). They are much bigger than Otohime and more perfectly proportioned like a human child and can for sure wear human clothes. The downside is they are extremely heavy. And for me personally, another downside is they definitely don’t have that anime aesthetic which I prefer over the more “reborn” looking dolls.

There was a highly sought after very limited released “Smartdoll Plus” from culture Japan. Some lucky people got their hands on them somehow. But they’re no longer produced. They also cost a pretty penny around $4,000 USD. Compared to Otohime’s $400 approximately USD price tag, that’s quite steep.

I have never handled a Smart Doll Plus (sadly) so I can’t say for sure, but judging by photos – they are better made than Otohime. Nothing really wrong with Parabox Otohime for the price. She has about a dozen different hand painted faceups to choose from (I chose T1) or you can buy her blank to do your own faceup. There’s also 2 completely different heads at time of writing, with a 3rd on the way soon. One head is more realistic similar to how Smart Doll has both anime and “semi real” looking dolls. It is pretty too, but I prefer the more anime looking girl.

She’s large, and her accessories, eyes, wigs, etc seem really high quality. But she’s hollow and can’t hold even small props very well due to her hollow limbs. She’s also stiff and inflexible. Notoriously bad at “looking up” (although after playing with her for literally 6 hours, she began to get more loose and flexible). Some people don’t like her hands. (Parabox listened and is releasing a new hand pack of posed hands next month) Also the material used to make her is rough and bumpy and lumpy… I don’t know if it shows up in my videos or photographs but it’s visible to my eyes.

Another thing to note – that’s hard to miss – about Otohime, is her very childlike appearance. Unlike Smart Doll Plus or Lusion Or Trinity dolls, Otohime has strange body proportions. She has a huge bobble head and almost no shoulders and very flat chest. I think she is cute – but ideally would like to see future releases with a larger bust and/or smaller head. If the head was about 3 or 4 inches smaller it could also wear trinity and lusion dollmore doll wigs which would be a plus as well. And if the shoulders and chest were a bit wider, she would fit more easily into the human newborn 0-3 month old clothes.

Parabox seems to listen to their customer’s feedback and is investing a lot of time and money and effort into this new large doll size. Next month they are releasing a new boy head and new boy body (different chest piece I believe). Furthermore, they are improving the existing female body by fixing issues with the knees and elbows (maybe then she can better hold small props and things).

Parabox’s shipping was extremely fast. I ordered it around first week of January, and it’s now the last week of January. The faceup was fantastic. It’s hand painted and very detailed. You can see each stroke of her eyebrows. Her (glass? resin? not sure?) animetic eyes came pre-installed. I selected Green at checkout. I really like her eyes.

Some of the photos in my review are with Parabox wigs and others are with wigs bought from american suppliers. One supplier is Factory Craft Direct – which is very cheap and affordable. You will want to always buy size 16 wigs. They fit perfect. I bought 8 wigs, half from parabox, some from Factory Craft Direct, others from Etsy and Ebay.

Parabox themselves are sold out of a lot of the wigs and clothes and other accessories (like the stain prevention body tights). (vinyl dolls get stained easy by picking up colors from clothes and wigs). I was able to snag their wig cap but to my surprise when I opened it, it was a monique wig cap, so Parabox didn’t manufacture the Otohime wig cap. I wonder what will happen now that monique is (going) out of business? Monique is another good place to look for wigs. Remember size 16. Although they are shutting down forever in a few more days/weeks so stock up now if you’re interested in anything there. You can currently get 35% off orders of $100 or more from Monique.com

I have done size comparisons with all of my other dolls to show how big Otohime really is. Check out the size comparisons below. PS: She can kinda hold the Azone dolls (sometimes) – but the bigger dolls she can’t really hold unless they’re both wedged against a wall or some other support structure.

Upcoming Video Games Releases We Can’t Wait For

2021 is set to be one of the biggest years for gaming in recent memory. Now that the highly anticipated next-gen consoles are out, gamers everywhere are ready to see how developers will utilize this new technology in their latest releases. This year we can expect a lot of big-name sequels as well as new, interesting titles. Here are some of the most highly anticipated games that are expected to come out this year.

Hitman 3

By the time you read this, Hitman 3 may already be on shelves. The series has seen some huge upgrades in recent years, and now our favorite assassin looks better than ever. When you view the trailers for this game, you can see the usual elements in play. Gorgeous, exotic locations, tons of gameplay options and scenarios, and the usual hint of comedy as well. The Hitman series has always been about the freedom to strike your own path and decide how you want to complete a mission, and recent sequels have focused more and more on replayability. We expect more of the same here. Hitman 3 will release on all major consoles, including VR systems which poses an interesting and promising new game mechanic.

Overwatch 2

The original Overwatch was a massive success worldwide and has since built up a dedicated fanbase. While it was expected to reach the casual fans as well, it also surprisingly found a home in the world of esports. This new market is growing at an alarming rate and now even online sportsbooks like DraftKings are offering free bets and bonuses towards the esports market. Overwatch 2 is anticipated to be the next big esports hit as they build on the gameplay that the first offered. Besides updated graphics and physics, you can expect several new game modes including the main storyline, which notably the first game was absent of. Overwatch 2 is expected to be available on all major systems late this fall.

Back 4 Blood

This is one release that really sparked our interest. Back 4 Blood is the spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series, a huge success of the Xbox 360 era. The gameplay will revolve around the same style, four players will attempt to make their way through zombie-infested levels. Cooperative play is the name of the game here, and survivors will have to work together if they hope to make it through this wasteland. Back 4 Blood is scheduled to release on all major systems aside from Nintendo Switch on June, 22nd.

Back 4 Blood Hands-On Preview – The Spiritual Successor to Left 4 Dead

From the original makers of Left 4 Dead comes Back 4 Blood, a four player coop centric first person shooter that pits you against the zombie horde. Check out…

Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart

No matter how far video game technology progresses, or where it leads, it seems like classic platformer-style games never get old. Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart will be the first Ratchet and Clank game to release on next-gen systems and so far the trailers look astounding. As the name implies, there will be a game mechanic revolving around being transported through dimensions utilizing rifts between worlds. As always, expect powerful weapons, snappy dialogue, and more classic platforming fun. Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart is a PS5 exclusive that should release in late 2021.

GhostWire: Tokyo

GhostWire: Tokyo is an intriguing upcoming release that has captured a lot of attention from the gaming media. The game is billed as a first-person action-adventure title with horror elements. Taking place in Tokyo, the player will traverse this haunted city that is infested with ghosts, utilizing a mixture of hand to hand combat and magic to disperse these phantoms. The visuals are very detailed, bright, and have a unique flair. GhostWire: Tokyo is slated for an October release on PS5 and PC.

Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2

When it comes to cult classics, it’s always hard to appease the fans. We are definitely tentatively excited for Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2. The original 2004 title is the definition of a cult classic as it has been modded to death over the years but fans still keep coming back despite its obvious flaws. Will this sequel capture the essence of the first? Will there be branching dialogue paths and rich lore to immerse yourself in? The trailers are pointing towards a unanimous yes, mixed in with somewhat clunky combat. Expect a late 2021 release for all major systems except Nintendo Switch.

Resident Evil 8: Village

The Resident Evil series has returned to its roots in the last few titles. Resident Evil 8: Village is the direct sequel to Resident Evil 7 and continues the direct story of the protagonist Ethan. Also returning to the series is the fan favorite Chris Redfield, though his place in the story is a mystery at the moment. Recently we’ve seen some fascinating new enemies, like werewolves and a giant woman who has made quite the impression on social media. The original release date was stated to be early September 2021, though that seems optimistic now. More than likely you can expect a late 2021 release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Psychonauts 2

Another cult classic sequel coming out this year is Psychonauts 2. Much like the first game from 2005, this release seems to be flying under the radar. This sequel will revolve around Raz, the protagonist from the first game as he travels through highly colorful, detailed, and unorthodox levels with his platform jumping and psychic abilities. The Psychonauts fanbase is small but dedicated and we expect this sequel to outperform the first game in sales. While an exact release date has not yet been announced, the developers have confirmed a 2021 release for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Halo Infinite

The Halo series needs no introduction by this point. This is the franchise that single-handedly saved the original Xbox and put Bungie Inc on the map as game developers. According to the dev team, Halo Infinite is the “biggest and most ambitious” game in the entire series. To begin, the game has been reworked from the ground up for next-gen systems. It was built on top of a brand new engine known as Slipspace which promises to keep the game running at a stunning 60 frames per second.

Halo Infinite also promises to build on top of all the elements that made the series so successful. Both story mode and multiplayer mode will be bigger and better than ever. There will be a new upgrade system that enables players to unlock new weapons and abilities as they progress their skills. Interestingly enough, the main game also promises to be “open world”, a first for the series, with a day/night system. We’re expecting some very innovative mechanics here. Halo Infinite is slated for a late 2021 release for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Oodie Unboxing Review

Hey guys and gals, I purchased an “Oodie” and it just arrived so I’m doing an unboxing and try on review for all of you. You can watch the video above or read through my written review here below.

So what is an Oodie? an Oodie is just an oversize fleece lined Hoodie. You can buy them from http://www.oodie.com

This is not a sponsored review. I just saw a facebook ad and I was like Oh that’s cute. It’s like it’s terrible, ugly, and cute all at the same time. The only thing really making them so cute is the variety of cute animal print patterns they have available.

I chose the otter print which you can find right here: https://us.theoodie.com/products/otter-oodie

I also really like:

The bunny one: https://us.theoodie.com/products/bunny-oodie

Corgi one: https://us.theoodie.com/products/corgi-oodie

Koala one: https://us.theoodie.com/products/koala-wearable-hooded-blanket

Panda one: https://us.theoodie.com/products/panda-oodie

Unicorn one: https://us.theoodie.com/products/unicorn-wearable-hooded-blanket

Avocado Toast one: https://us.theoodie.com/products/avocado-oodie

Bulldog one: https://us.theoodie.com/products/bulldog-oodie

They do have a cat one, but it’s not that cute in my opinion even though I love cats: https://us.theoodie.com/products/cat-hooded-blanket

Like OK – I like almost all of them… And if they were more reasonably priced I’d buy all of them…

Now yes, admittedly, they do have special savings for buying multiple packs, and yes you can select your patterns in those packs…

But for just one oodie it’s regularly priced $99….

THESE ARE NOT WORTH $99 GUYS!! PLEASE!!! I’m sorry, they’re not. That price is CRAY-CRAY!!

I paid $69 for mine…. and I still feel like even THAT price is Crazy. GTFO…. That’s insane.

These are not worth anywhere close to that price.

They should be like $49 regularly priced with like a coupon to make them $29.

That’s the truth OK.

Just from NORMAL WEAR for less than a day, mine had fleece falling off!! $100 for fleece falling off? Get out of here you crazy sons of a…

Like legit all I did was put it on, played some cards, and watched some TV and look, cute picture but I didn’t realize the fleece had pulled off in big chunks and tangled into my hair… until after I took the picture.

My fiance in the pics is just wearing a regular hoodie, not an oodie, and even though it’s not fleece lined, he’s probably still just as warm, and probably actually more comfortable than me, because you know his hoodie actually fits and doesn’t feel like it weighs 20 lbs lol.

My other big complaint is the shade of blue – mine is not as blue as the one in the stock photos. BUT if you look at other people who did reviews, the color is like WAY off in a lot of them!!! There’s one that’s lavender for god’s sake, not even blue. And another one has dark brown otters, instead of the more uhm blonde-ish otters?

I know colors look different on computer screens, but not THAT different lol.

There’s not many reviews for the otter patterned oodie. And I haven’t added mine to the site yet – once I get a cute pic where I don’t have fleece in my face, I will share my thoughts.

In that review, It’d probably be like 3 stars?

Like my big complaints are it’s SO HEAVY…. This company sells weighted blankets too – but to my knowledge, these Oodies aren’t supposed to be weighted? It’s not listed as a selling point, but it puts SO MUCH WEIGHT ON MY BACK AND SHOULDERS – caps for emphasis LOL.

After trying Oodie I can safely say I don’t think weighted blankets are for me.

I like as little clothes as possible. Like if I’m alone being in the buff is the best LOL. I know bad mental image sorry :). But if I have to wear clothes I like dresses and leggings because they’re light weight and not super tight or form restricting. Like I hate jeans for the same reason – soooo heavy ugh.

I want to be freeeee lol.

So number 1, Oodie is heavy!

Number 2 – Oodie fleece falls off – unacceptable for something that cost $100. It’s not like I pulled on it, I wasn’t even active!!! I was sitting playing cards and sitting watching TV that’s IT!!! Unacceptable for the price. Poor quality right there.

Number 3: Oodie is expensive!!!!!!! $99 — Really??? REALLY?! Get out of town. That’s crazy. You know this shit cost them probably like $10 at most to make.

Oodie is FLEECING us – literally – lol.

Number 4: Patterns and Colors are cute but seem to vary widely in what you receive. Case in point the otter oodie – just look at those reviews, where the fook did that lavender one come from? And paler blue than mine? and the majority do have the nice bright “electric blue” color – but color is all over the map. Like I said I totally know color can vary from monitor screens, but – not by that much – not enough to make one lavender – or to make some of the otters brown instead of blonde lol.

OK But those 4 flaws aside…. Yeah I kinda like it. If I hadn’t paid $69 for it, I’d love it and overlook the flaws. If I had paid $49 or $39 for it, I’d give it like 5 stars…. I’m REALLY glad I didn’t pay $99 for this – cuz it’s definitely not worth that much.

That’s my honest opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I still kinda want more oodies – but they are price prohibitive, and quality for the price is not what I would expect at all. Like my fleece shouldn’t be flaking off after just sitting on the couch. It’s never been washed or anything it’s brand new. I have fleece blankets and they don’t peel off everywhere. What’s up with that, huh?

Oodie does have a good deal right now if you buy multiple hoodies, you can save hundreds of dollars – another sign that the single oodie is marked up WAY too high – cuz you know they aren’t going to sell these at a loss in profits. So how can you explain getting like 4 or 5 oodies for the price of 2 oodies?! lol. Stop fleecing us. Lower your non-discount retail price of a single oodie to like 39-49 and I’ll buy damn near every pattern you have – I love the designs enough to overlook the fact that the fleece is fluffing off or that the oodie is damn heavy. lol.

Final verdict: Oodie is cute, warm, cozy, and comfy – but definitely not worth $99 – and not even worth the $69 discounted price I paid.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Oodie? Let me know in the comments section below.

Hi girls! I ordered these fleece lined nylon leggings from some Facebook ad like four months ago that just arrived today. I can’t even remember for sure which brand they are or where I purchased them from.

I ordered three pairs all supposed to be the same just different colors but each pair was a lil bit different.

I try them on for you.

I am 5 ft 5 224 lbs. I carry most my weight in my thighs and ass. I’m usually a size 16 or 18 US or size 1X or even 2X depending on the brand of leggings.

The store only offers one size fits all. Let’s see what happens!

This is not a paid review. I bought these with my own money just sharing my own experiences.

I have three videos for you. I’m copying this description to all three.

Honestly the black ones with lightest fleece fit me well with no cameltoe and a nice color and feel nice and silky but they do snag a little bit but not as much as regular nylons. But they have the least fleece not as warm not acceptable for 20-30 degrees winter outdoor weather but they do look nice on my legs.

The other two pairs two videos almost fit except for major camel toe lol. Not very comfortable but they are warmer and snag resistant.

If you’re wondering if these will fit you I think if you’re like 175-195, the answer is YES, but 200 plus like me, I think the answer is a hard no. No one wants camel toe ever lol.

I assume I’ll get a lot of hate and hurtful comments about my body but it’s OK if my review can help other plus sized women make an informed decision then it’s fine. Fat girls wear clothes too you know lol. I feel like YouTube might delete these videos because of the camel toe but I’ll also be uploading these to my blog at GeekySweetie.com

Life Itself – Movie Review

How many times have you ever sat down to watch a movie, and had to turn it off without finishing it because it was just such a bad movie? I can guess a lot of people chose to turn off this movie… So I’m here to tell you to give it another chance. This movie is amazing… but it doesn’t seem that way at first. Much like life itself in reality. Life Itself (both the movie, and well… Life) can have some pretty horrible things happen when we least expect it… but Life Itself (again both the movie, and actual real life), can have amazing beautiful moments that teach us the power of the human spirit, the power of love, and the importance of family.

I’m going to try to do this review with very few spoilers, I will talk about a few scenes, and what happens, but not who they are happening to. This is all to convince you, that if you stopped this movie half-way through – or if you’ve never watched it – you have to watch this movie – in its entirety.

Life Itself is complicated… yes, both the movie, and our own lives. Life Itself is not always happy. We might not always understand Life Itself. Life Itself can be unpredictable. Or as the narrator at the end of this beautiful movie so elegantly tells us…. “Life Itself can bring us to our knees and push us to our limits. It can take us down further than we can imagine… but I promise if you just stand back up and keep going a little bit further… there is love.”

Love is the one thing that all humans want. And as one character in the movie put it, if you’re saying bullshit right now, you’re lying. All humans need love. To give and receive love is our purpose on earth.

So why did Life Itself choose to spend the first hour or more of its tale in such a bizarre way? I asked myself the same at first. Wouldn’t it have just been better to just start with the story of Rigo? But to understand Rigo Gonzales’s story, you have to understand the accident he witnessed (and in some ways caused) as a little boy. And you have to understand the consequences of his actions impacted another family… and how all of these people are connected… because trust me, they are connected, in the most breathtakingly beautiful and unexpected way.

Life Itself in the early part of the film is hard to watch!! I was laughing at how bad this movie seemed to be… but I kept watching. There’s random busses hitting people, there’s a dog named Fuckface, and a guy who quite unexpectedly just blows his brains out. And there’s Samuel L Jackson narrating this whole first chapter of crazy shit. If anything, I thought this was an over the top weird parody satire type of film meant to be funny.

But no… Life Itself changes and grows into something more…. Something deeper…. something so beautiful. It’s not a comedy at all. It fooled us into thinking its something it’s not.

You see… Life Itself can be funny, sure. It can be unpredictable. It can make you say what the fuck, about 1500 times. It can make you laugh. It can make you feel disgusted. It can shock us. But really… After all of that… Life Itself moves us. It comforts us. It uplifts us. Life Itself is not a comedy. Not a crazy satire. Life Itself is a love story. A beautiful one. One that had me crying for the last hour of the film. One that had me glued to the edge of my seat. One that had me deeply invested in the lives of these characters as it slowly revealed how each character is connected.

I felt more watching Life Itself than I think I’ve ever felt watching any American movie before. I’ve only cried more watching KDrama lol.

There were happy tears, sad tears, so many tears…. tears for days…

And the movie touched me so deeply that here I am writing about it right now… It moved me so deeply that I really want everyone else to watch this movie. I fear that many people stop this movie, around about the time the guy blows his brains out… maybe even before that…. It’s hard to watch. This is true. It’s really hard to watch the first hour of this film. But it’s worth it.

Life Itself… like our own lives… all the pain, all the sadness, all the anger, all the dysfunction, all the death, all the senseless violence, all the misery… it’s only half of the story… the rest, the best, is yet to come.

Life really is the most unreliable narrator… as one character tries to prove in their college thesis. Life Itself leads us down twists and turns and we expect one thing, but then something else happens, because Life Itself is unpredictable. No one knows what will happen in life. We are at Life’s mercy, watching our own stories fold out every day in our own lives. If today was a bad day, even if there were hundreds, or thousands of bad days before, it doesn’t mean life is always bad. Similarly, if today was a good day, and there were hundreds of good days before, life is not always good. Life is just life. Through the ups and downs and craziness of life… when we look back on our own lives, or on the lives of the characters of this film, we will see pain, but we will also see love. It’s beautiful. An accurate description of well…. Life Itself.

It’s free to watch on Amazon Prime, so give it a shot… and don’t turn it off… as hard to watch as it might first be…. It’s the artist’s intention… to make a point that is so relevant in today’s society and world…. and the final message is so uplifting and moving… I promise you… Life Itself (both the movie and our own lives) will amaze you.

Cattails Become A Cat – PC Game Review Like Stardew Valley But With Cats

Ever wonder what would happen if you took Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, Or Stardew Valley and replaced all of the humans with cats? Me neither, until I played Cattails Become A Cat on Steam. It’s on sale right now for the winter steam sale, the biggest sale of the year, for a few more days.

So what is Cattails? I’ve only begun playing the game today, but it’s advertised as being “Like Stardew Valley But With Cats” and near as I can tell so far, that’s a very accurate description. It also reminds me of the children’s book series “Warriors” about various cat clans and lives of cats.

You begin the game by naming and coloring your cat (that’s your playable character) – You’re then thrown into a story scene of a little girl adopting you from a shelter, only later to have her mother dump you on the side of the road. That’s where your journey begins.

You meet another stray cat who guides you through learning the controls of the game. She teaches you to hunt, forage, and use your skills and inventory. She leaves you after asking you to choose a cat colony to join.

There are three options, the friendly forest cats, the fierce mountain cats, and the strange mystic cats. I picked forest cats because it seemed the best for beginners.

You have an empty little den, but later you can customize and decorate your den. You go to sleep, and save your game in your den each day.

To stay alive in the game you must hunt and forage, and sometimes fight other cats. You have to eat to stay alive.

There are seasonal events and special scenes throughout the game, similar as they say to Stardew Valley or Story of Seasons or Harvest Moon or Rune Factory, etc.

And so your life as a cat begins!

For $5.99 in steam’s winter sale, you too can experience life as a cat in Cattails Become A Cat.

Overall Score: 60/70 86% B “Very Good Game For Girls”

Geeky: 4/5 – these Stardew type games are pretty popular right now. The controls seem solid, gameplay solid, graphics retro indie style like Stardew. I think this one will appeal to gamers of either gender as long as they like retro indie sim games and aren’t too worried about “next-gen graphics”.

Sweetie: 5/5 – These simulation games are always a hit for girls, but this one especially so because of the cats.

Gameplay: 10/10 – Once you learn the controls and play a little bit it’s pretty easy. There are 3 difficulty levels, and I’m admittedly playing on “easy” on my first playthrough. There’s a lot of customization and personalization, and the farming/foraging/hunting/fighting as a cat aspect is very unique and fun. The seasonal events remind me a lot indeed of Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon as advertised.

Graphics: 7/10 – The characters all being other cats are very cute – I want more customization options for my own cat. I want to have stripes. I want him to look like my cat in real life. Right now there’s only solid colors. So I deducted points for that. Also note this game has an intentional retro/indie vibe – if that’s not your thing – this isn’t for you. But I like retro and indie games so “fine like this” :).

Story: 6/10 – I’m not far enough in it to say for sure, but games like this usually don’t focus much on story, and focus more on gameplay, and that seems to be the case here so far. It’s not a terrible story – and the whole cat thing gives it a unique angle, but it’s not a narrative driven game because it’s meant to be open world and focused on exploration and living and creating your own story.

Characters – 8/10 – all of the characters are cats! so cute. Again i’d like to see more customization for the main character, but otherwise, am pleased.

Music: 10/10 – Actually… I’m LOVING the music in Cattails it’s so peaceful and whimsical. I am definitely leaving the sound on while playing this one. The game has been running idle in the background while I type this, and although yes, the tracks are short, and loop, it’s not bad, because the music is so good.

Voice Acting: N/A – no voice acting.

Replay Value: 10/10 – You live your life as a cat, the way you want. That’s the point, so yes, there is huge replay value here. You join different clans, meet different NPCs, see slightly different stories, but even beyond just the clan thing, you customize your cats skills and attributes and that directly effects gameplay in many ways. So yeah I’ll be playing this again too.
